Episode 100, “The Marathoncast” (Brina Palencia, J. Michael Tatum)

Episode 100, “The Marathoncast” (Brina Palencia, J. Michael Tatum)

On this episode we have EVERYONE on to talk about a little bit of everything. Read along, because it’s going to be tough to keep up. First we have the Introduction followed by the News with Firecrouch. We then have an exclusive interview with the man who played Eneru, Dalton, and Pearl, the man himself…J. Michael Tatum. This marks his second appearance on our podcast. Immediately following we have our stories and anecdotes from Anime Central, you will not want to miss those! We then have an Anime Recap with special guest Chris Niosi AKA “Kirbopher.” As if that weren’t enough, we then have Brina Palencia, voice of Tony Tony Chopper, on with some more special surprises for our Anime Central bash. Next up we have The Dude’s trip to Japan and his numerous adventures there, including an encounter with the Yakuza. This thing never ends does it? Nope. Immediately after we discuss our favorite of the 100 episodes recorded thusfar, a very quick Pieces of Eight, and round off with our first music segment entitled “The Dude and Zach’s Dance Carnival.”

But seriously, we need to thank you guys for making this all possible! I hope you all get a chance to listen to this episode because, though it’s exceedingly long, it was exceedingly fun to do and Anime Central was a freakin’ blast, so I hope you can hear our behind-the-scenes stories.

Congrats on your 100th episode! It was an awesome listen from beginning to end! I am sorry to say that I haven’t listen to every episode but I am on my way to since I have started to listen from episode 1 and now going though episode 8 to onward! haha

You guys are just amazing doing two episodes and even FIVE episodes a week at times. I swear you guys are just one of the biggest hardcore One Piece fans that I will ever hear (since I haven’t seen you guys in person yet). I hope that one day I can be as hardcore as you guys in dishing out the One Piece fun every week. That is just awesome and I hope you guys keep it up and if One Piece keeps going for hundred more years then I hope that you guys are still there for I can listen. haha

So congrats again and keep up the hardwork.

    Happy 100 episodes! :D

You know, I managed to beat Unlimited Adventure. AND unlock EVERYTHING in the story mode. And now I’m doing it again! Seriously, though, that Dimension Zone level is a pain in the ass to get though.

Actually, funny story about Ivankov’s original Japanese VA. Oda actually based Ivankov ON HIM! No really, true story, and when the guy heard that story, he immediately volunteered to voice him for the anime!

    J. Michael Tatum is a BLAST talking to! XD

“In your Kuwabara voice, say the Gettysburg Address, and finish it off with an ‘over 9000!'” What?! And yeah, at a convention I went to, Chris Sabat has said that his least favorite word(s) are “over 9000″. :P

    Cool story, Steve!

I USED to use nakama and Shichibukai a lot. I still kind of use Shichibukai, but now I think nakama sounds silly. I also learned that a translator actually makes things accessible in English and DOESN’T just leave stuff untranslated. I think you can blame some of the easily-angered English-speaking otakus for that.

I thought Jimbei was called Jinbei because of the jinbei he wears… Oh well.

Wow, you guys were completely CRAZY during this anime recap! I fucking love you guys! If you’re ever at Tora-con again, I am SO there!!!

Yeah, Chopper SCREAMS A LOT! The Japanese Chopper manages to be cute even while screaming. Brina does a great job at Chopper, but sometimes the screaming gets a little unnerving. I actually said that to Brina’s face at a convention, and I regretted saying that ever since.

“I AM A MAN!” *stabs himself in the face*

So, happy 100 episodes, even though I only listened to about three so far…
