Loved this podcast episode the Greg no Gougai was a blast as was the manga recap I for one am very happy with Hody having no reason makes sense to me. I’m sad that I didn’t win but Super happy that I got an honorable mention on the podcast ^_^ I’m really happy that the thing you liked most was that I went for a cover page look, I tried my hardest on going for that feel so YAY X3! The anime recap and the Dance Carnival were great as always.
I forgot about the art contest entirely–I would’ve submitted a Foxy the Silver Fox. Oh well. Were there any entries for him?
REALLY late to this because I’ve been lazy.
Manga recap…
Jimbei x Nico Robin shipping… I’d go for it.
Good point in mentioning Robin’s useful against giants, because it’s true now.
That’s ANOTHER good point, the people Luffy and co. fight usually don’t bother to learn the names of thsoe they fight, with the exception of certain individuals. Yet another good point is the cliche of manga/anime characters shouting their attacks. What Brook does is exactly the reason WHY you shouldn’t do that!
“And since I am dead, I can take of my head, to recite Shakespearean quotations!” XD
Brook’s new powers of coldness and his new swordplay is freaking awesome, thank you Oda for having Brook take a level in badass!
Holy crap! I didn’t notice this before, but on page 14 in the very center of the page, Octopako can be seen!
Hody’s evil face is so fucking ugly it’s funny! I was also initially disappointed, yet somewhat relieved by the “big reveal” of Hody’s “true face”. Nothing happened to him. He’s just an idiotic evil creature who doesn’t know any better. The nest chapter goes into more detail, but needless to say, if they tried tacking on a tragic backstory or some shit, it wouldn’t do any good, since Hody’s just too much of an evil douchebag to be redeemed.
I LOVE the FOX News comment, because… well, do I really need to explain it?
Political commentary? In MY One Piece?!?!?
Can’t wait to see the “Back to the Future” Contest winners on YouTube… so I can actually see the winners. I have no freaking idea what the AEC feed is.
Anime recap…
Wow, Brook actually made his 45 degrees stunt part of his act… If only he did it WITHOUT the wall, like Michael Jackson did, that would have been awesome.
So Brook pours the water on himself… does any other famous rock star that I don’t know about do that kind of thing?
Okay, so the Den Den Mushi rings… and why doesn’t Brook pick it up right away? Already, I can tell Toei is trying to drag this episode out, which is a shame, since they didn’t really have that problem before. Or at least, it wasn’t as noticeable.
The design of some of the big-name pirates, as well as the shadowing and stuff, all look good here… In my opinion, anyway.
…Caribou… Dang, his voice sounds so familiar, who is he?! Thank GOD for One Piece Wikia/One Piece Encyclopedia for times like this…
lol, Caribou’s crazy eyes, I love it! XD
It seems like Coribou’s both an idiot and VERY intimidated by his brother. At least that’s the impression I get.
WOO-HOO, that was one crazy laugh! This guy is PERFECT as Caribou!
Boy… It’s times like these where I noticed how pudgy fake Nami is… Eh…
This is the part that kills me on the inside… Luffy NOTICES that they look different… but thinks they’re wearing some kind of disguise… Good GOD how can he be that thick?! I mean, what kind of disguise is that? Dressing exactly like themselves but looking different in terms of physical appearance is NOT a disguise! It’s an imposter!
I like how the longarm manager actually thinks he’s going to take Brook out with a gun. Either way, now Brook is officially associated with the Straw Hat Pirates now, instead of being a random skeleton seen nearby the Straw Hat Pirates. Expect this to take effect in the New World.
OH YEAH! Franky’s theme is back, and it’s just as awesome as before! Also, I didn’t notice this, but apparently, he calls this version of himself “Armored Me”, at least according to the One Piece Wikia/One Piece Encyclopedia. Personally, I prefer Battle Franky 37.
lol, Chopper’s cute lying on his backpack.
A hand came out of his hand… I like how Oda thinks of these things and knows that people are going to bitch and complain about his appearance, so he comes up with explanations like this. Really, I haven’t seen him use that small hand much, and I’ve seen him use the bigger hand more often… I think… Going to have to look back on that.
Franky’s “robotic voice” doesn’t sound very robotic… To me, anyway.
Chopper’s always so cute, but Chopper’s Japanese VA is just so perfect in that she can make ANYTHING she says sound cute no matter what! Even when she’s screaming her lungs out… ESPECIALLY when she’s screaming her lungs out! X3
Wha?! What the Hell, man, Franky’s classic hair returns, only to revert back to his current hair style! Lame!
You know, moving like a robot would have been cooler… if he didn’t make those sound effects… Also, adding “mecha” to the end of his sentence doesn’t make him any more of a robot than saying “robo” or “clink-clank”… I think.
I like how Brook’s band and back up singers and dancers agree to perform one last time for Brook. That’s just how awesome he is! Speaking of awesome his final speech about Luffy is pretty awesome, too! Shows you just how loyal he is to Luffy, despite only knowing him for a short time.
And the fans become raving lunatics, just enough for Brook to get away!
Brook’s last song, “New World”… is okay, I enjoyed it. The flashback to Brook’s rise-to-fame is nice. What’s amazing, though, is that the lead manager almost backs down from shooting Brook… And when it looks like he’s going to, his co-managers stopped him. That’s good, since it explains why they didn’t do anything while Brook sang another song.
Boy, if I was a Soul King Brook fan, I’d be flipping out over this epic final performance… Wait… I AM A Soul King Brook fan! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Boy do I love seeing Shakky. I’m going to miss seeing her…
I love how Rayleigh isn’t distracted by what Nami’s wearing… He’s just badass like that.
…Whitebeard DOES have a beard! his gravity-defying earthquake powers just make it fall upward! XD
Franky thought Brook wasn’t going to come back because now he’s famous and he’s going to have no trouble at all blending in with society, plus he can probably reach Laboon on his own, I guess. He didn’t think that Brook had to come back, I guess he was saying.
Dance Carnival…
The beginning track reminds me of Lawrence of Arabia…
I like ANY music box music. Because no matter what tune it plays, it’s always very touching and heartwarming.
Piece together…
Hey, hey, hey, they read my comment once again! Not that it was anything important, and yeah, it was in the anime so odds are it’s not as relevant, but I thought it was interesting to say the least.
Yeah, Brook seems damn near indestructible now… I mean, his bones might be fragile as Hell, but since they’ve been shown to heal over cracks and stuff, it’s going to take a LOT to actually kill him for realz… I think that if his body is completely destroyed, he’d have nowhere to go but the spirit world.
Steve’s performances are always amazing… The “take two” blooper was freaking hilarious!
lol, the Goku/Gohan stinger at the end!
