Yet another great episode you guys. Manga recap was totally awesome glad to see you guys acting mature about Robin’s feet lol. The Anime recap was great totally loved the episode, added to the manga very nicely. But my fav part this week was definitely the Pieces of 8. I love me some collectibles XD! Thanks for that Ichnob. I can’t wait to see what you boys will have next week ^_^.
I’ve been waiting… SO glad it finally came!
Manga recap…
Here’s hoping Wapol doesn’t get greedy, or at the very least, that isn’t the former Drum Kingdom! …Maybe we’ll see the real Drum Kingdom (now Sakura Kingdom) this week! Either way, I like seeing Wapol again, that mustache and beard he has now makes him look like his brother from the second movie, and his hair’s grown lighter… I don’t like those pants he’s wearing…
…Miss Universe DOES kind of look like Doronjo of the Doronbo Gang from Yatterman! And Wapol is Tonzura.
Ha! As it turns out, Hody Jones knows Fishman Karate, and is a complete amateur compared to Jimbei/Jinbe! Even with his mighty power boost he just can’t compare! And this next part is interesting because it caused some debate between my fellow One Piece fans. Jimbei’s bounty supposedly rose to 400,000,000 or higher. People say that someone with a bounty that high shouldn’t join Luffy’s crew because he’d overshadow Luffy. I say we wait until we actually see his wanted poster.
Speaking of dead bodies…
Brook’s new move is pretty amazing. Able to hypnotize people with his music! I wish we’d see more of his swordplay, although Zoro is more sword-based while Brook is more music-based.
Something interesting I noticed about Zoro is that he put his bandana on. When was the last time he did that? Enies Lobby? Damn, that was a long time ago…
I actually pity Sanji because those weirdos just don’t get it. Leave him alone already! Not to mention, THEY’RE FUCKING UGLY!!!!!!!!!
Actually, while that move is clearly like CP9′s Geppou (Moon Step), Sanji calls it “Sky Walk”. And again, it makes sense, because Geppou is literally people kicking the air hard enough that they walk on it. Sanji was bound to learn a move like that. Also, Sanji goes from being cool yet sympathetic to being one of my most hated characters when he makes that disgusting face at Shirahoshi. Bleh!
It was so wearing seeing a huge pair of naked female legs like that… I felt a little dirty looking at it…
That Rhino bike is so FREAKING AWESOME, like Luffy said! Franky riding it is so badass!
Now this is something that confused me that I wanted to ask you guys; where IS channel 5? And where is that FUCKING TANK stored? Seriously, to think Franky made a FUCKING TANK of all things!
Commander Chopper is so CUTE! X3
Pappug is saying that Franky is supposed to be a shipwright, that is, a ship builder. So how would a ship builder be able to build a FUCKING TANK?!
And last but not least, my favorite part of the chapter… Surume! We find out more about him, where he’s from, and best of all, Luffy recognizes him and invites him back to Luffy’s side! HOORAY!!!
Screw you Firecrouch, screw you 1000 times over! Surume is stressed/distressed because he’s forced to work for these mean angry Fishmen! Poor thing…
It IS reminiscent of the Momoo scene, only instead of the creature being scared of Luffy, he’s friends with him! ^_^
I love the last few pages because we see Surume’s various facial expressions. I really like that. And PLEASE guys, you’ve got to tell me if Luffy is saying “tomodachi” or “nakama” in place of that friend thing. Also, I didn’t notice Luffy on Surume’s back because he’s so small. But it’s like he’s chillaxing, with his hands behind his head. It would be SO SWEET if Surume joined the crew, I seriously hope that happens!
This chapter was AWESOME! FANTASTIC! BRILLIANT! AMAZING! More, more, MORE!!!
Actually, I couldn’t help but notice how much the New Fishmen Pirates tease and taunt Surume, like they have no respect for such a huge creature with a ferocious reputation… Surume deserves better than that!
Anime Recap…
And here we have Brandnew… I felt all giddy when I saw him at the end of Marineford, because I actually recognized him! I love all these minor characters resurfacing here and there, sometimes with important roles, others just moving the plot along… Brandnew doesn’t seem that important, but at the same time, there’s something I like about him.
This is interesting… They actually SHOW Luffy, Rayleigh, and Jimbei rampaging on Marineford… You think THIS is the primary reason behind Jimbei’s bounty increase? Less because of his actual strength but more because he is now associated with Luffy AND Rayleigh?
I also forgot that people actually live in Marineford (most families of the Marines fighting), thanks to this anime for reminding me.
These photographers… I was kind of expecting Attach to be the one who took that picture of Luffy, but I guess he’s just responsible for the wanted posters…
Wow, they’re actually going into the details of where these irrelevant characters are from? Well, I guess they wanted to make sure people knew that Luffy’s actions would spread quickly and everyone would find out about them…
Wow… Are the Marine Admirals really going around killing as many pirates as they can? Shouldn’t they be helping in the reconstruction of Marineford?
Wait… They’re actually firing at them?! AT CIVILIANS?! I can understand drawing enough attention to get Luffy’s “secret message” out, but this might be going a little overboard… Oh, those were blanks, nevermind…
Hot DAMN it’s awesome seeing Jimbei use his Fishman Karate!
HO-LY SHIT! Rayleigh took out those cannonballs with bullets 10 times smaller then they are! Just shows you how badass he is!
Wait… They blew up their own ship… Luffy, Jimbei, and Rayleigh are safe… What about the Marines that were one the ship when they captured it?! …They’re dead now, I guess. How gruesome.
I’m glad they’re only attacking the Marines, not the civilians. Of course, we’re following this from the point of few from those two people we just met.
Luffy DOES look younger when he’s ringing the bell. Kind of cute, actually…
And after Luffy rings the bells, of course, everyone gets their chance to take a picture, and we see Luffy’s bare skin with a mark on them… Not that anyone notices or cares about the mark, they’re too dumbfounded by everything else!
I like how the Marines are too scared to even attack Luffy, like he’s made such a reputation for himself now…
Oh, that’s right, I forgot that he threw flowers, particularly where he threw them… And takes off his had in memorium. People take this change to take as many pictures as possible. Hopefully, they get good shots of Luffy’s right arm. (not really)
And it’s the whale shark, YAY!
Why would Luffy being Dragon’s son not mean he can’t be Roger’s successor? These people are clueless!
Man, look at all those News Coos… I guess it was silly of me to assume there was only one.
Woop Slap cameo.
And there are the old bastards themselves, the Five Elders… What’s that in the air?
I remember when you guys said how the Five Elders “claiming” Jimbei was a symbol of interspecies peace was bullshit, but now, after seeing the history of Fishman Island, we finally see that it’s true… Then again, it’s THEIR fault that they aren’t more thorough with the Slave Trade…
I noticed that they don’t say Marco is a possible candidate for new Emperor, but they DO say he, along with the remains of Whitebeard’s crew, could be the only ones aside from the other Four Emperors (now 3) to stop Blackbeard. It kind of shows how seriously the Five Elders take him for. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing him again.
The Five Elders know the secret of “D”… I wish I knew what it was… It must have something to do with the “Blank Age” or whatever erased history Robin’s looking for.
I wonder of the VA here is also the same VA that voiced Kong in episode 0… Either way, I hope you realize just what Kong’s role is now… Commander in Chief. In charge of ALL military actions. But BOY, for an old guy, Kong’s got huge muscles!
I like Sengoku’s final words as Fleet Admiral, about how “Justice” changes from each generation… And I ESPECIALLY liked how he nominated Aokiji to be the new Fleet Admiral, he really is the best choice, compared to the other Admirals…
Speaking of which, I see that he’s returning, just in time for his scene with Smoker! And he sneezes because someone was talking about him… Yeah, that must be a Japanese thing, because I don’t get it…
And here’s our favorite Doctor, Docter Fishbone! XD Coby’s developed Haki on his own, what luck! It shows great promise for him! Too bad for him, he can hear… EVERYTHING… lol, nice puberty metaphor.
This is a really funny scene, this guy is literally in tears saying he couldn’t defend Marineford against Luffy and co., but Aokiji, being the guy that he is, seems completely unaware of the situation, or he just doesn’t care. Makes sense either way.
I don’t know why, but I find Smoker really bland… Like, he hasn’t done anything important since Alabasta, and even in Marineford, it’s like he was “just there”, like it didn’t really matter. I wonder if we’ll ever see Smoker do anything important again.
Still, I’d like to know more about G-5… I smell a future arc possibly…
And you know what’s weird about Eustass Kid? Up until now, we haven’t seen him do anything bad. They’ve said he’s done nasty stuff, but it’s nothing compared to actually seeing it (out of sight, out of mind, as they say). THIS scene, shows us just how brutal and cruel Kid can be… And why he is more dangerous than Luffy in that regard…
Who knew Killer was also Mr. Exposition?
…What is with those evil-looking pigs? I wonder if Kid’s crew can handle the New World?
And there is Capone Bege… Or rather, there WAS Capone Bege. What the Hell happened to their ship?!
And here we have another bland supernova, taking care of everyone’s favorite and most memorable character, Brownbeard. Nice cat head in the background.
“A pirate with a bounty over 80 million”…
…Is he serious? Kill that worthless noob, Basil!
Urouge, now THERE’S a guy I’d like to see more of! I hope he survives this island of thunder and lighting! What’s weird is that he’s not smiling anymore… Did Oda just forget that he smiles perpetually?
Oh, NOW he smiles, immediately after their boat is struck… I guess he only smiles when bad stuff happen.
I love that they choose THIS to end the episode on, it’s more dramatic this way.
Piece Together…
Obviously, after spending 2 years on a personal Hell island, the one half-way decent fellow is going to be the one you remember. Ivankov gave him the chance to get off the island, AND get the Attack Cuisine, so naturally he’ll have some respect for “it”.
lol, sorry for my really long responses, but I’m glad you at least like them. XP
“It’s in there somewhere”… BRILLIANT!
I love your answer to my second question. Laboon and Surume falling in love… You guys are great at this!
Oh, just “tomodachi”, huh? Oh well… Thank you SO much for answering my stupid questions again!
If you were to make fun of Foxy’s hair he would be constantly depressed 24/7, with no one to cheer him back up.
Imagining Zach kicking Apis in the stomach is such a funny image!
None Piece! IT IS SO FUCKING FUNNY! Funnier than most abridged series, mostly because of how freaking weird it is!
I wish I ran into more One Piece fans…
It sucks that the first One Piece movie to be released in America is one of the worst.
Funny ending… Poor Firecrouch, but then again, he kind of had it coming.
Haha, Jason said that you don’t need disgusting things and rants on a podcast. Now I’m wondering why Jason is on this podcast, because he’s both a disgusting creature and a ranting bitch. But I guess he’s just a hypocrite.
Glad Firecrouch is back. Funniest guy on the podcast.
