OH CRAP! There have been 3 podcast episodes while I was on vacation last week! Well, better add two more to the lest on episodes I needed to catch up on…
I missed the 14th anniversary of One Piece? Ah well, at least the date was wrong… supposedly…
A ViZ editor… Cool.
I remember the complainers about “haki”, and I’m like “Well what else are we supposed to call it?” “Ambition” would be a nice substitute, but… Actually, yeah, that could work! Or at least it would if given the chance…
Yeah, seeing the English names for the first time in the original manga is going to be confusing… And the distinctive laughs. What do you keep, what don’t you keep, it’s really tough!
I’ve decided to skip ahead and watch the latest episode, just to this podcast… Oh, I noticed they changed the typical Toei intro… Actually, I think I’m familiar with this Toei intro than the other one… Whatever.
I also love the latest opening, “We Fight Together”! Awesome stuff!
“The Time is the Great Pirate Era” Well not anymore it isn’t…
This particular episode looks a lot brighter than usual…
I like the music that’s playing as they return to Marineford…
I’m surprised they managed to capture a ship… Then again, even though Luffy and Jinbe are still relatively injured, they also have Rayleigh with them.
Man… was there an episode that showed exactly what Chopper did to have the natives stop playing with him/wanting the eat him? Ah well.
It’s interesting, the only ones who know that Ace is Luffy’s brother are Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Chopper. Robin, Franky, and Brook are completely unaware. It’s interesting to note how the the former tried to return to Luffy ASAP after finding out the news, while the others were just trying to get back to Luffy as planned.
What’s REALLY weird is that the natives were going to cook the baby chick, yet they said they didn’t want their eggs. Contradictory, much?
Wait, the birds weren’t originally FROM that island?! Then where WERE they from?!
Good thing Chopper’s going to realize that he’ll have to stay there for 2 years soon, so he can study the medical plants there!
That giant chick is just so CUUUUUUUTE! Almost as cute as Chopper… Wait, where’d that chick find that cotton candy?!
That was really cute, Chopper saying “News Coo”! EVERYTHING Chopper says is cute! Everything Chopper-related is insta-cute! X3
Soran asks if she can see Robin again. Like Aisa before her, she will be instantly forgotten as soon as we leave her, even with that picture of Robin on the wood…
You know, I was kind of hoping that guy with the feather in his hat would be a grown up Sabo, just not immediatley revealed to the audience. The anime nixes this by having the wrong hair color. Not that it matters, they changed Marco’s hair color at least 3 times during the course of the anime, so I’m sure when and if the time comes, they’ll change this guy’s hair.
And look at that, the anime even revealed that guy’s eyes! It’s like the guys didn’t even think twice about this guy! Like it never occurred to them that this might be Sabo and that he could look look different if Oda planned on it. Then again, they made Rayleigh look different when he made his first appearance in the anime… Oh, whatever, this just pissed me off!
How weird… For 10 years, Dragon and the Revolutionaries have been searching for Robin and vowed to protect her when they fine her. If only they had found her a little sooner… But still, the guy that want’s the protect her is the father of the guy who literally declared war on the World Government just to show she’s not a burden to him. What a twist!
Then again, if that was Sabo, he would know who Luffy was… unless he lost his memory when he was attacked!
Oh, I must have missed that… the bridge was the Celestial Dragon’s idea. God knows why they wanted to build it there… Probably so they didn’t have to ride a boat all the way to the East Blue, the lazy bastards…
Now back to Sanji who… SOMEHOW is back to normal… And the substitue queen is talking to him. God, Ivankov better get there soon.
Oh, speak of the devil! And Sanji recognized the name from the newspaper, no doubt, and tries to convince Ivankov he’s one of Luffy’s crewmates. I always HATED this part, even int he manga! Yes, it’s a terrible representation of Sanji, but at least it looks REMOTELY look him! Blonde hair, curly eyebrown, cigarette… Are all the people in the world retarded or something, or can they obviously not tell that’s just a drawing an not a full-scale actual representation of Sanji?!
Oh wait… The anime decides to have fun with Ivankov’s ability to change genders… Sanji’s in for a big shock!
Oh wow… They really brought out the perv in Sanji this time around… Big boobs and a tight ass… Makes me feel awkward knowing he’s really a guy…
My God… The new Ivankov voice doesn’t sound at all like the old Ivankov voice… I mean, when Ivankov was a lady, he/she did sound like the old VA, but now… That voice just doesn’t sound right.
Wait… Why’s Brook’s wanted poster up there? I thought he wasn’t associated with the Straw Hat Pirates at this time… How did Ivankov know Brook was with Luffy? Weird…
Also, this is the part I’ve been dreading. Poor Sanji hates to admit that that poor drawing of him is supposed to be him, but these people say he looks nothing like him! BULL-FUCKING-SHIT! Like I said before, blonde hair, curly eyebrow, cigarette! Obviously there’s a lot more to it than that, but still, theses people are going about it like the poster has purple hair, square eyes, and a mouth like a fish.
And Sanji even coughs up blood, it’s that painful to admit! Oda just LOVES to torture Sanji!
Again, I just can’t get used to Ivankov’s new voice… They must have been pressed for time and couldn’t find a more suitable replacement for him… Hopefully, when Norio Imamura is released from prison, if there are any more appearances from Ivankov, they’ll get him again… Oh wait, according to Wikipedia, “On September 1, Imamura was released following a summary proceeding at the Tokyo Public Prosecutor’s Office and was given a fine of 500,000 yen (approximately $6,000)”. …Wait, that was last September! Then why do they still have this guy?! God damn…
In the manga, the fight between Sanji and Ivankov wasn’t shown, but I assumed he was defeated quickly and easily… Here, I wonder what they’ll do…
That guy does NOT do Ivankov’s HEEHAW right! Get rid of him! Bring back Norio Imamura!!!
Well, that aside, it went pretty much how I expected the fight would go.
Oh, oh, oh, I’ve been looking forward to this part! Ivankov talking to Dragon about Kuma! So awesome…
Wait, next episode will go into deeper details about what happened to Luffy, Jimbei, and Rayleigh in Marineford? That’s… interesting.
Captain…. CAAAAAAAAAAAVEMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!!!
Oh wow, you’re so right! That IS every movie kid! “I don’t have a mommy or daddy, but I’m tough, grrr!” They’re SO annoying like that!
Glad to see I wasn’t the only one convinced that the feather guy was Sabo…
Giraffes are fucking AWESOME!!!
Yeah, that’s an interesting to note. Aside from the ass line, why are all the crossdressers so ugly?! They can be pretty crossdressers…
The thing about Daisuke Gori was that he only voiced Jimbei for about 2 or 3 episodes… Didn’t really give time to sink in… Not that the loss of such an awesome voice actor (who’s already done other characters in this anime) wasn’t a terrible loss but by this point, I’ve gotten used to Katsuhisa Hoki (Gecko Moria’s VA) as Jimbei.
Piece Together… OH CRAP! I asked a question on the fourm, and I don’t know if they’ve been answered on a previous episode or not!!! I guess I’ll have to wait and see…
I… kind of enjoy a story more when I know what’s going to happen. Actually, it depends on how it ends…
I do appreciate all the subtle hints at foreshadowing… Even as early as the first chapter!
I also like the story-telling method used in the Baroque Works Saga, where they visit island to island, slowly building up to an ultimate big bad… I like how all these different and various adventures and side quests are all connected by one single thread. It just makes me like looking back at it all…
The 11 Supernovas… I was told they were thought up right before they made their appearance… So I assume they’re not that important… By the looks of things, Kid and Law seem to have futures in the story at least. I REALLY want to see X. Drake again, and I want to know what Bonney’s relationship with Akainu is… For some reason, I had this crazy idea that she was a World Noble who ran away and became a pirate, which is why she has such a traditional view of what pirates are supposed to be like… It’s a stretch, I know, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be true.
Yeah, Devil Fruit give off certain wavelengths to tell what Devil Fruit they are… A DF radar could totally work!
Man, I stayed up late listening to you guys again! Mostly because I arrived at him from vacation late, so whoops…
^ Long replies are long.
They are indeed.
