To say that episode 165 is a busy one would be an understatement. Despite Zach’s absence, we cover an amazing amount of informative and entertaining material. First, Jason reports us the latest news in the One Piece world. We dive into the latest volume release in Japan (volume 62). Then Jason walks us through his experiences at Anime Boston last weekend, and what it was like hosting two panels all by his lonesome. Greg and Steve relay the last half of Oda’s Strong World interview in style before we head into the meat of the episode: Greg’s trip to the One Piece Dome Tour, where he walks us through his entire adventure. We then introduce a new ongoing Top 5…favorite simulcast episodes, and present to you our number 5 pick. We top it all off with a short but sweet Piece Together, and then close out for the episode.
I highly recommend the AAC feed for this episode. It will be easiest to follow along with as you go. However, if you find yourselves unable to do so, you can always follow along with Greg’s trip in the FACEBOOK GALLERY. Also, to view Greg’s Thousand Sunny video that he took while at Dome Tour, go HERE.

Freaking fantastic and super huge podcast guys! I enjoyed the volume 62 SBS translations very fun ^_^. Thanks so much for that Greg and for the translation of the Oda interview and especially for all the awesome photo’s of the dome tour it was fun to hear the stories on them glad you had so much fun ^_^. I can’t wait for episode 500 YEAH XD!! the top 5 from the simulcast is gonna be a blast, great choice for number 5. Until the next podcast guys ^_~!
Those glasses in the Thriller bark picture look like the glasses Usopp wore when he was Luffy’s trainer during the Davy Back arc
Wow Jason sucks.
Volume 62 recap…
I liked seeing the cover of Volume 62. It had the colors for King Neptune (orange beard, what do you know), Megalo, and best of all, Surume! Oh, and the quintuplets, I guess…
WHAT THE FUCK?!?!? Initiating a Buster Call with his NIPPLE?! Who the fuck thinks of these questions?!
Actually, that Hana Hana Fruit pee question is fairly reasonable…
Dumbass person asking if Haki and Mantra are the same thing… I guess that must have been a REALLY new reader… except it can’t be since they knew about Mantra. So… What the Hell?
Oda’s getting fed up with these people and their dumb questions, so he’s going to mess with them by playing along.
Cool that we finally know the names of Law’s other crewmembers… Now if we could only get the names of Kid’s other crewmembers, particularly that fire-breathing zombie guy!
How corny is that that Garp’s “Fist of Love” is really powered by love, not Haki.
Chopper’s new hat isn’t a helmet. in fact it isn’t really a new hat at all, it’s just his old hat with a blue thing on top of it.
Anime Boston…
Yeah, I remember when I first learned about “the game”. Seems kind of pointless and stupid. Whoever came up with it should be dragged out onto the street and shot.
lol, Boo-urns! XD
Oda interview…
Banana bazooka. FUCKING BRILLIANT! I wish he could have used it more…
So he wanted to use the octopus in Skypiea? Well, he managed to incorporate a similar creature in Fishman Island.
Dome Tour…
Dang, yo… Jimbei’s voice was one of the voices that guy tried for Gecko Moria? Eh, I’m still on the fence on Moria’s voice… On one hand, it sort of fits with his respective arc. On the other hand, it gets REALLY grating at times.
Top 5…
There ARE two kinds of pirates in the One Piece world… According to the first version of Romance Dawn, they are “Peace Maine”, which are pirates who go on adventures and aren’t that interested in treasures and fighting other pirates (Luffy, Brook, Shanks, and Whitebeard fit this model), and Morganeer, who are pirates that fight for treasure and personal gain, like Buggy, Kuro, and Don Krieg.
