When I first saw Vander Decken, I thought Jack White and Michael Jackson never entered my mind.

blackbeard’s real life pirate head was decapitated
so its interesting if Oda will do this the same.. brutal though
Awesome Podcast you guys. Seriously loved it especially the manga reacap it was hilarious now I can’t get that song out of my head ^_^. And I for one am glad you didn’t do a full anime recap for this weeks episode it just wasn’t worth it. The pieces of 8 and the volume 61 recap were AMAZING XD!! Curse the fact we’ll have to wait forever for volume 61 to come out in English. It was also very nice to have Kate on, cause I love you guys but being a girl myself, it’s nice to at least have one girl voice. Well until next Monday ^_^!
I have to agree with Joseph, though the glove sorta sealed the deal.
also, can Jason please close out the show from now on? Loved the enthusiasm!
No.
Curse you Zach, you goddamn tyrant!
where are the pictures? :<
Manga recap…
Yay, new cover story… On closer inspection, I see there are new pictures of the Straw Hat Pirates. Chopper’s and Zoro’s look just like their old wanted posters, only with Zoro’s scar and Chopper’s “new” hat. I can also tell “Soul King” Brook is among them. The rest are hard to make out… I ESPECIALLY did not notice the Wapometal stuff…
lol, it IS Squidward! See:

Seriously, though, I LOVE all this marine-biology going on with these Fishmen! Fascinating stuff!
He DOES look like Michael Jackson! Almost moreso than Jango!
Also, looking back, I forgot just how much Luffy’s improved, noticing the axe was coming, then reacting quickly so the princess doesn’t get hurt. Seriously, though, she’s just really cute, despite (or perhaps because) she’s so huge!
It IS confusing about the water around and in the palace. Perhaps the anime will make more sense of that… Also, I think it’s the Minister of the Right, and he’s a seahorse merman.
Megalo is NOT creepy! You’re just saying that because of his exposed gums!
It’s funny how the Minister assumes the Straw Hat Pirates have been captured. He grossly underestimates them.
It helps that I’ve read beforehand, but when Shirahoshi asks if he’s a bad person, Luffy says “You can decide for yourself.” That seems to be his basic theme here, as this is brought up again, later on.
At first I was hesistant about calling the “Mato Mato” a Devil Fruit, because no one ever says it’s a Devil Fruit (at least not until much later). But the again, he has all the symptoms of a Devil Fruit user.
So… She’s been imprisoned for 10 years… How old is she again?
Well, whatever, deal with that later. Luffy eating that bread is so funny!
Luffy really is a rude bastard… But that doesn’t make him bad. Still, Shirahoshi’s lived such a sheltered life, she barely can tell the difference. And just when Luffy’s insulted her and ate her food, he decides to be nice and take her to wherever she wants to go.
lol, “awfully AWESOME!”
lol again, Wadatsumi holding the ship like a balloon.
Also, notice Vander Decken’s legs are all shiny. Hi’s got the bubble completely surrounding him.
I didn’t comment much on this manga chapter because, well, I’ve been meaning to make these shorter, and there wasn’t much I wanted to say.
Anime recap…
Whitebeard’s death spread ’round the world. Everyone not witnessing the event is celebrating… Little do they know what horrors to come…
Doflamingo’s always kind of nuts… Wondering what kind of chaos will break loose…
The Whitebeard Pirates are leaving? I thought they were going to stick around, and see why Blackbeard does… Because he does indeed do something with Whitebeard’s dead body…
Whoa… was Akainu hanging onto that ledge with one hand that WHOLE TIME?! Dang, yo. Still, it makes sense that he would go after Luffy now, being too distracted with him to even consider Blackbeard.
It’s, uh, “interesting” to see what Buggy was doing during the Whitebeard/Blackbeard fight. This is the sort of filler that we didn’t need to see, though. All we really needed to know is that Buggy didn’t kill Whitebeard while he had the chance. Actually, I’d like to see Blackbeard and Buggy interact at one point… The two are the closest things to Luffy’s rivals, and mirror Luffy in different ways…
Buggy’s followers always make up clever reasons to show how awesome Buggy is. The canon ones that Oda is responsible for are the ones I like the most.
Thank GOD they at least leave the Transponder Snail so they can see just what Blackbeard does…
I feel as if the whole purpose of that black sheet is Blackbeard purposely trolling everyone, taunting them by not letting us see what he’s doing… For some reason, a thought occurs to me that the fact that he’s a “D” might have something to do with his ability to… Well, you’ll see.
Hey, Namur talks! AWESOME!
Shiryu/Shiliew ponders if they’ll disband if this doesn’t work. It didn’t occur to me that he might think of betraying them. After all, I kind of assumed that by “fail” he meant “Blackbeard dying while doing whatever he’s doing under that sheet”.
Jimbei running with Luffy is funny.
This is one of the reasons I thought Jimbei might join the crew. Ace asked Jimbei to look after Luffy. It’s not much, but it’s something. Actually, Jimbei doesn’t really need to look after Luffy, since Luffy has his crew, but well, I don’t know… He DID say he has high regard for Luffy, so yeah, maybe it’s possible…
Again, Hancock attacks, and I’m again surprised why she ISN’T stripped of her status.
Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, we forget that there are powerful admirals there who can stop these guys… In the anime, things are slowed down a bit, so instead we wonder what they’re doing during all of this. Aokiji, for example, was busy freezing the seawater so that Jimbei and the other pirates don’t escape… He seems to want to prolong the battle as long as possible…
Again, Akainu refers to Luffy as “Dragon’s son”, not caring about the actual person, but rather his linage. That’s what pisses me off most about Akainu. Kind of an old-fashioned line of thinking.
I wonder… If Luffy encounters and New World pirates, or the remnants of Whitebeard’s crew… Do you think they’ll ally themselves with Luffy should the time come? And once again, Akainu knows exactly what to say to piss them all off, the heartless bastard. He’s also kind of an idiot, expecting Dragon’s literal comrades to back off from Dragon’s son, since he makes such a big fucking deal about that.
I like how the Marines do absolutely nothing except wait and see what Blackbeard does… I also think it’s weird how the Blackbeard pirates somehow know that Blackbeard’s finish. Do they know something we don’t?
I am both shocked and a little upset that Blackbeard is somehow able to to have the Dark-Dark Fruit AND the Tremor-Tremor Fruit. On one hand, it’s an intriguing plot development. On the other hand, it seems like a bit of a cop-out, setting up a rule that no one can have more than one Devil Fruit power, yet Blackbeard shows up and defies it. Not to mention… This is a more personal thing, but I think the Tremor-Tremor Fruit was meant to be for Whitebeard and Whitebeard alone. In the same way, I feel Blackbeard is entitled to the Dark-Dark Fruit. Both fruits perfectly fit the individual, in terms of personality, prowess, and the overall tone the characters give off. By having Blackbeard gain Whitebeard’s powers… It just doesn’t seem to befit him the same way it befits Whitebeard. But then again, it kind of ties into how Marshall D. Teach (Teach was the real-life Blackbeard’s last name) killed both Thatch (a name often associated with Blackbeard) and Edward Newgate (Edward was Blackbeard’s real name), and thus, truly became “Blackbeard”…
It’s also strange how he proclaims that he’s the strongest man in the world now, even though BOTH his powers were stolen from other people. Indeed, though, he has two of the most destructive powers in the world. Say what you will about Whitebeard, at least he never actively use his powers to literally destroy the world. But now they’re in the hands of someone who might actually use them to their fullest potential!
What’s this BS Marco says about his “body structure”? Does HE know something we don’t? What’s the big secret? Someone please tell me what’s going on!
“The boring people who love peace”… Somehow I love that line, and it makes me think of how he and Doflamingo got along while Blackbeard was still a Warlord. It’s a good thing the video was still on, so that the people of the world can actually see what’s going on and hear his words.
Oh, so Akainu DID hear him! He just doesn’t care…
Blackbeard is boss, he’s the best villain in One Piece. I fucking love that bastard!
As for the podcast…
lol, Akainu as Pizza the Hut! XD
SBS questions…
Diamond Jozu has a diamond dick. Glad there’s SOMEONE who asks these kinds of questions.
“Justice never falls” Brilliant explanation.
Piece together…
DE-DERP DE-DERP DE-DERP! Xo
Seriously, though, Hody has NO idea how strong people are on the surface. But then again, since he spent his whole life in the Fishman District, he doesn’t know how powerful they can be… Alrong did, since he faced off against Kizaru, back when he was still a Vice Admiral…
I bought Unlimited Adventure. And I liked it.
