Once again, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece justifies its status as the best-selling manga series to date.
The 73rd volume of One Piece has hit the 4 million target in its very first print run. The volume was released this past Tuesday, March 4, and covers chapter 722-731 of the currently on-going Dressrosa arc.
It is also the 10th consecutive volume to get a print run of at least 4 million copies, the first which was Volume 64, released back in 2011. With 4.05 million, volume 67 holds the record of the volume with the highest number of copies in the first print. Volume 57 was the first One Piece volume to hit 3 million copies in its first print run, beating J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix which had 2.9 million.
