The Unofficial One Piece Podcast – FUNimation Announces a Fifth Season and a Movie

We are pleased to announce that FUNimation Entertainment will be releasing all new episodes and a new movie for the popular shonen action-adventure series, One Piece. This extremely popular series is based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda and follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his band of Straw Hat Pirates. The series is currently into its 556^thepisode. Fans can watch the simulcast episodes Saturdays at 10:00 pm EST on www.onepieceoffical.com.

FUNimation announced the following at their industry panel at Otakon:

One Piece, Season 5 (Episodes 263 – 336)
One Piece film Strong World

We’ll be talking with some of the FUNimation folks tonight and we’ll put it online late tonight or tomorrow morning with questions, answers, and discussion about this latest FUNimation announcement! We also have planned special episodes for the upcoming releases in the coming months.

Hey, if you guys can when you talk to them, plz bring up the five “Straw Hat Flashback” Episodes that happen in the middle of Enies Lobby and ask if they already know what they’re gonna do about that. I wana know if we’re gonna have to pay for those 5 reruns…

Are you kidding me!? I am going to snatch up that preorder for Strong World as soon as it’s available! I was afraid that they would start with Movie 1 and go on from there, but I’ve been waiting for Strong World! I forced myself not to watch it, it’s payed off! There is sudden information from Toonzaki that says season 6 all the way up to Impel Down as well as Film Z have been licensed as well. There is no confirmation on this, though, and it sounds too good to be true.

I’m so excited about Strong World! I wonder who they’ll cast as Brook… If everything goes well, hopefully they can license S6 and other movies in the future. Personally, I’d want movie 4.
